A lightning rod in accordance with the Construction Standard Act was installed but the base of the statue became damaged with holes due to strikes of lightning.

Each time lightning hit the structure, fragments of concrete fall from above.  Although lightning accidents are feared, it is most feared that these fragments of concrete might fall on visitors and lead to serious injuries.  This potentially dangerous situation worries those in charge.
